All About Me!
Hi everyone! I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2015 with a degree in elementary education. I taught 3 years in Oklahoma and am now entering my 3rd year of teaching in Texas.
Philosophy of Education:
As educators we need to set the bar high for our students. I recently read The Wild Card by Hope and Wade King (which is fantastic) and I remember a quote from their book that says “If you want to create magic, you must NEVER settle for ’good enough’ because that’s what your students will become.” So we shouldn’t be teachers that just show up to teach, we should be teachers that are striving to make a lasting impact on our kids and that means pushing them to their fullest potential. This concept is otherwise known as The Rosenthal Effect. Students perform better when they are instructed by teachers that have high expectations for them.
